Coming from out-of-state, I braved finding a new dentist. Individualized care might describe my visit to Coulter Dentistry...definitely NOT "one exam fits all"!

 

Dr. Coulter's office is well run with pleasant and knowledgeable front desk staff. The hygienist was meticulous in thoroughly inspecting each individual tooth, quoting innumerable remedies in medical terms. Her expertise at analyzing my teeth and gums as well as making me feel comfortable was outstanding.

I am confident in Dr. Coulter's ability to address my oral health. His exam was most thorough and his recommendations have already proven effective... particularly liked the full upper-body, including the neck, cover before taking ex-rays. I am so thankful that a friend referred me to Dr. Coulter's office. I had developed quite a phobia about the dentist and wasted years neglecting my oral health. Dr. Coulter and staff were kind, encouraging, and set me on the path again. I so glad it's a one-stop dental care solution, instead of referring on the specialists and the drama that evoked in my mind. I had fairly extensive treatment under IV sedation, and can't imagine how it's even possible to not have any discomfort after two extractions, deep cleaning, and repair to several teeth -- but I that's what I experienced! "Dr.Coulter and his staff are beyond AMAZING!!! I am a person who has severe anxiety and fear of the dentist. I recently was forced to go to the dentist because my wisdom teeth decided to come in. I had not been to the dentist in many (9+) years because of my fear. The hygienist was so incredibly gentle with me and talked me through everything. She explained as we went along and even made sure that I was ok every step of the way. Dr. Coulter came in then to do his exam and review my x-rays and he as well made sure I was ok every step of the way and took all the time I needed to answer my questions and explain things to me.

 

I am very fortunate that my genetics gave me healthy teeth, because even after not having proper dental care for all those years, I have a couple cavities, but nothing majorly wrong. I had the best experience at a dental office that I have ever had my entire life and for the very first time, A PAIN FREE CLEANING. I felt foolish for having waited so long... I can’t even begin to thank you all enough for all that you have done for me over the past few years. I have been terrified to visit the dentist, it has always prevented me from doing annual checkups. I am still working on “regular” checkups, but this is a slow process for me. A process that would not be possible without all of you.

From the first time I visited Coulter Family Dentistry, I was treated with respect and kindness. The level of empathy and compassion is extraordinary. I have spent most of my life working in a customer centric atmosphere and it is rare to have any one person be as considerate as you all have been, let alone to have an entire team dedicated to the needs of each customer. 

​

Since my anxiety with the dentist has been so great, I have used the IV sedation for any procedures that I needed done. This process works for me and I am thankful to have the ability to not remember the procedure. Recently, I was eating a piece of Werther's Caramel Chews when I heard the dreaded crunch sound. I stopped and removed the candy to find my crown now attached to the candy. As you can imagine, the next few minutes were filled with perspiration and panic. Somehow I managed to locate your number on my phone and called the office. I had to leave a message, you were out to lunch. However, within minutes of your lunch hour ending I received a call back from Liz. Her and Kelley worked with me to get me into the office and worked around my schedule to make it happen.

This would be the first time in years that I have had to witness and be alert for the procedure that would soon take place. My nerves were shot prior to my arrival, but Dr. Coulter and his new assistant took great care of me. As always, they made me feel comfortable and they were aware of my anxiety and allowed me time to catch up. My tooth was repaired and I was sent on my way, but for me this was a milestone. Despite the noise, the drill, the suction, the pulling, and the jargon, this visit was a success!

I will say it's not something I want to revisit any day soon, but it was an experience at a dentist office that I have never had before. An experience that restored my faith in dentistry! Overall, a great experience!

I want to say thank you to everyone that has worked with me and has understood my challenges. I always feel welcome, and I always feel like I am the only patient during my time there. I have, and I will continue to, recommend Coulter Family Dentistry! While I don't look forward to my next visit, I know that when I do have to visit it will be with people who care!  - Jerry
